The Gaythorne RSL Sub-Branch Inc. offers a free pension and advocacy service to serving and ex-serving members and their dependents.

Appointments may be made by contacting our Welfare Section on 3355 4655 during business hours Monday to Friday.

WE’RE HERE TO HELP

We handle claims for Service Pension, Disability Pension, Military Compensation and War Widow’s Pension. We are also able to assist with any appeals on decisions through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Veterans’ Review Board and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

GAYTHORNE RSL

The Gaythorne RSL is the result of merging the Enoggera and Mitchelton Subbranches. To keep the peace, it was decided they would meet halfway-hence the Gaythorne Sub-Branch was born.

THE RSL MISSION STATEMENT

To ensure the programs are in place for the well-being, care, compensation and commemoration of serving an ex-serving Defence Force members, their de-pendants, and Government and community awareness of the need for a secure, stable and progressive Australia.

THE POWER OF ADVOCACY

As a member of the RSL (Queensland Branch) we offer a FREE Advocacy and Welfare Service to all who need it.
Our Advocacy Team can assist you with you claims through the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) for compensation for injuries as a result of your service in the ADF.

The Gaythorne Advocacy Team provides experienced practitioners who can advise and assist you on obtaining eligible benefits under the appropriate Act, in matters relating to:

  • Initial Liability Claims
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Disability Pensions
  • War Widow Pensions

HOURS OF HELPING

Our Advocates are available Monday- Friday. Our Advocacy staff also conduct home visits where this is more convenient to the client.

WHY WE DO THIS?

Most of our Advocacy Volunteer staff have experienced the confusion and ignorance that faces you when considering submitting a DVA claim. We know what it’s like!

Experience has taught us one or two things that we wished we had of known from the beginning, and we can help you to avoid the problems we faced.

Experience and Empathy
All the Advocates working with the Compensation Advocacy Section to the Gaythorne RSL are trained to the competency standards and endorsed by the Sub-Branch Board to practice.
We are all ex-service members and are familiar with the terms and conditions of Military employment.
